What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms for Book to our Events
Booking conditions and cancellation policy: Synergo! reserves the right to refuse your registration without cause. Acceptance of your registration will be confirmed in writing by email. As a participant, you agree to attend all activities and sessions organized by Synergo! during the Data Management Summit. We understand that sometimes you may not be able to attend, in which case we will allow a substitute delegate for the same event (subject to approval by the Synergo! protocol team and prior communication).
Please let us know in writing at least five working days before the congress to confirm this. The organizer reserves the right to modify the location, dates, program, speakers and participants of the event and/or to cancel the event. In no event shall Synergo! be liable for any damages or losses that may be suffered by persons and/or property during the Event, specifically including disruption of possession and all commercial losses. Since our insurance does not cover attendees, it is up to you to take out liability insurance. Synergo! is granted the right to use, for promotional purposes, any material recorded at the Event, whether in photographic, audio or audiovisual format, without time limitation and in any format. Attendees waive any privacy rights they may have due to their presence at the Event and agree not to initiate any legal proceedings against us arising from our use of such material.
Force Majeure: In the event of force majeure or an event due to a third party that cannot be attributed to Synergo! including but not limited to, fire, flood, pandemic, epidemic, windstorm, explosion, riot, natural disaster, war, terrorist attack, sabotage, strikes, labor or material shortages, supplier failures, transportation embargoes or acts of any government or government agency, Synergo! may, at its discretion, postpone or delay the event at the location, conditions and in the manner chosen by Synergo!, and Synergo! shall not be sued for liability.
GDPR Sentence: In order to participate, attendees must explicitly subscribe to and approve the following sentence.
“I implicitly consent to the processing of my professional data and understand that it may be transferred to the sponsors and organizers of the Data Management Summit event. At any time I can exercise my rights under GDPR by expressly requesting the final deletion of the data. Data from DMS, FOS and all Synergo! events are automatically deleted after 190 days of the event. The transfer of the data to the sponsors makes them responsible for future processing. Who we share your data with
Data Protection: By entering your data in the fields above and submitting your registration, provided you are accepted to the Data Management Summit, you agree to Synergo! electronically sending and publishing your company name and contact details, which will be shared with the sponsors. This is a condition of attendance. Synergo! is the data controller. Synergo! may use an individual delegate’s personal and/or business information in order to send him/her details of its services or those offered by its marketing partners or members of its group. Synergo! may also disclose such personal information to its suppliers/sponsors of the Event.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
